The Mayo Association Annual Our Lady of Knock Mass
The Mayo Association will have our annual Mass to honor the Feast of Our Lady of Knock on Sunday, August 18th, in the Ball Room at the Irish Center. Doors will open at 1:30 pm, and Mass, con-celebrated by Father Flanagan, Father Shea, and Father Monahan, will begin at 2:00 pm. Sister James Anne has prepared a beautiful liturgy to celebrate the Feast, which is so meaningful to us, and we hope you will come and invite your family and friends. Thank you in advance to all the volunteers that will make this Mass very special.

Our Lady of Knock Mass
Our Lady of Knock Mass is on Sunday, August 22 at 2 pm in the Ballroom at the Irish Center. Sister James Anne has been working on the liturgy and, as always, we can expect a beautiful Mass celebrated by Father John Flanagan. If you plan to come, please arrive by 1:30 so that we can get Mass started on time at 2 pm.
Immediately following Mass we will present the long-delayed 2020 Meitheal Award to the Irish Diaspora Center. In the late summer of 2020, the Meitheal Committee met by Zoom and reviewed the nominations it received last summer from the general public. The Meitheal Committee received a number of worthy nominations and chose the Irish Diaspora Center to recognize the work it does to serve the needs of the Irish and Irish-American communities in the Philadelphia region. We had hoped to present the Meitheal Award to the Irish Diaspora Center in 2020 but, suffice it to say, the Covid-19 pandemic thwarted our attempts on multiple occasions. We are thrilled to finally have the opportunity to present the Meitheal Award to the Irish Diaspora Center and include them in the Mayo Association of Philadelphia’s Our Lady of Knock celebration.
Lastly, we will have a luncheon at the Irish Center following Mass and the presentation ceremony. The cost for the luncheon will be $20 and will include an entrée, sides, salad, rolls & butter, dessert, and coffee or tea. Cash bar.
